Well, any NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) or any drug for that matter can cause a reaction. Most NSAIDs can cause stomach upset or even gastrointestinal bleeding or an ulcer!

Each Advil is 200mg per tablet. If you take 4 at a time that's 800mg x twice a day = 1600mg per day x 30 days (average) = 48000 mg in a month. If you take 100 Advils per month that's 20000mg in a month...you're not necessarily exceeding a dosage that could or would be prescribed by a physician. But, the real question here is what is causing your back & arm pain? Have you been seen by a doctor? Maybe there is something better for you then taking all these pills that don't seem to be helping (I assume since you keep taking them).

Go see your doctor to find out what's wrong. NSAIDs were made for occasional use, not long-term use.

Good luck!

Well, how is your stomach holding up?? that is the risk with those drugs at the rate you are taking them. Does your physician know you are using them this much? You may need a PPI to go along with it. Prilosec is over the counter. Zantac may work too. Even if you don't feel effects now, you have to be careful. Especially with Aleve, as it is known to cause ulcers.

That's about three a day...three too much a day.

You have to go to alternative medicine website and find natural substitutes,. These products are scientifically known to cause lover and kidney problems, no kidding! Try researching Gary Null, Dr. Stengler, Dr. Mercola, Rima Liabow, and others.

You should consult your physician. The back of the bottle should tell you how many not to exceed within a 24 hour period. Taking too much Ibuprofen for extended periods of time can do more harm than good.
