I want to tip the ends of my hair with a contrasting color, but I don't want to do any color like pink, or blue, or purple.

Any natural colors that would look good with dark brown, very close to black hair, that still stands out?

I suggest not getting the tips done. That looks just weird. Have you seen that asian girl on the Disney channel, her tips are red and it looks horrifying. Even with a natural color, it would look absolutely weird.

That's a hard one as with Very dark hair it is hard to get a color to stand out. I recently saw an associate with a bright blue streak that was done very well. Most of the time one will see that burgandy or purple look.... its out/old.
A copper "not orange" on your ends would be nice too.
You might even try a soft blond contrast .
It all depends on what style you are looking for.

A tip I got from a hairstylist I went to in Italy was to take the ends of your hair (which are generally lighter than your roots) and go just a few shades lighter than that. Anything else he said wouldn't look natural. If your ends are pretty light, then I would go with an exact match to the tips. But if your hair is jet black, then I wouldn't suggest getting highlights.

The only natural color that I think would go with dark brown/black hair is red. Go to your salon they have tons of different types of haircolors and samples for you to go thru! I'm sure they would be happy to suggest a color that would compliment your haircolor as well as your skin tone.

a red slash copper looking color brings out black to brown hair's natural color as well. but do not get anything too red or you'll just look kind of silly. make sure the color is a brown tone of red/copper.

if ur going for a slight punk-ish look, ask ur stylist to apply underlights instead of highlights. i prefer this because its not a harsh effect on the overall look, wutever the color, and u don have to worry about roots!! and for the color try a deep reddish-brown. one of my friends did tht recently and she looks gorgeus. =)

emerald green gown, emerald green shoes AND emerald green bag? thats too plenty green. Why no longer positioned on like black shoes and charcoal gray bag. gazing the celebration, smokey eyes are constantly a competent determination. no longer something too colourful as you have already have been given colour everywhere else

A rich copper would compliment your dark hair.
