Yes you can, but if it is hot it will take longer to set if covered. To speed up setting you can place the bowl of jello in the sink with a level of cold water in it and it will chill faster thus set faster. Leave it in the water for about 15 minutes then place in fridge. Don't forget now "Lemon"is my favourite!!!

I don't think it matters. I make mine in a big bowl. Sometimes when I want to stack stuff on top of it, I'll use a plate to cover it. Little messy because condensation forms under the plate if jello is still cooling.

I have a covered glass casserole that I always make it in, my guys eat a lot of jello and I usually put canned or fresh fruit in it as well, then cover with the lid. Works great.

Yes you may cover Jello. You can also make it with ice cubes to speed up the process (directions on box) I put mine in the freezer to speed things up. But you have to watch out that you don't freeze it.

Yes you can cover it while cooling. This also helps prevent the "skin" from forming.

you can cover it but it will take longer to set because it starts out boiling.....unless you cool it without the top first ....and then cover it

You should cover it to keep it from absorbing the odors & mold spores that lurk in your refridgerator!!!
