A good 90% of the time conjunctavitis will go away on its own. Keep the area clean, wash your hands and don't touch your face without washing afterwards. Pick up some saline eye drops (non-medicated). To help the process, keep a warm compress (run hot water on a washcloth and wring it out) on it as often as you can. Make sure you don't touch your other eye with it or it can spread to both eyes. If it doesn't start to clear in the next 3 days, ot it DOES spread to the other eye, head to the doctor...you'll need drops with medication in them. Don't wait longer than three days, unless you'd like to compromise your eyesight.

Good luck!

Pink Eye can be either viral or bacterial

If it's viral, going to the doctor is not going to do anything, anyway.

Here's what you should do: Use advil to releive the pain and swelling, apply a cold compress to the eye when needed, take benadryl, use saline eye drops if necessary.

Make sure to wash your hands and don't touch your eye. It's highly contagious... you don't want to get it in your other eye.

HOWEVER, if it doesn't get better in a couple of days, GO SEE A DOCTOR... you may require anti biodics or steriods to reduce inflammation.
