The difference is stark. Our 14 year old is not his biological child, but he's a good Dad to her in general. Our baby is almost 3 months old and while she's totally adorable, he'll almost do a cheer and a dance greeting her and have to be reminded to say something to our older daughter. He tends to be controlling sometimes and those types like to "punish" when you aren't their picture of perfect. He knows he's doing this and has asked me to pray, but everyday there is another example of who he favors more and I don't want my daughter to resent her sister. She's not noticing too much or complaining (from what I can tell) but if I were her, I'd be a p'd off little kid. Sorry so long, but thanks for reading and thanks for your advice.

p.s. YES he and I are in counselling...

I would leave him... I say this because I had a mom that didn't leave when I was not being properly. I now have a daughter, and if i get married and my husband treated my daughter less then she deserved, I would leave... that would break my heart. I would feel her pain. She doesn't deserve that

I think even if they were both his boilogical children there would be a difference, just because of the age gap. Of course he's going to be excited about the baby. I have a brother that is 6/8 years younger than my sister and I, and my parents both treated him very differently than us. They still do.
He shouldnt be totally ignoring the older one though, but it would only be natural for him to be a bit more enthusiastic right now about the baby, it will probably wear off, or if you have another child, then the one who is the baby now might be feeling the same as your oldest daughter.
