My brother stays across the country and he's getting married and I want to go but at the same time it cost $378 for a flight. Keep in mind around the same time as the wedding i'm trying to move to another state. What should I do in a situation like this one? Go to the wedding and be broke when its time for my big move? Or send my best for the lovely couple and keep my first months rent?

How far in advance is the wedding? You should have plenty of time to save up the extra money. Your brother's wedding is important!

As a last resort, call your folks and see if they'll help you out.

He has to understand your financial situation and if you can't afford it, you can't afford it. Maybe he can help you out so that you can attend, if not send him a nice gift and tell him as soon as you are settled and in a better financial position you would love to go visit him and celebrate with him.

Could your move be postponed? If not, then you can explain to your brother that you'd love to attend, and it will break your heart not to, but you just can't do it financially. Hopefully he'll understand or offer to pay your fare.

The latter.
Explain to your brother that you simply cannot afford the plane ticket.
Send a gift and your wishes and that's it.

You go to the wedding, whatever it takes. Driving would be cheaper, or how about the train?

Tell him about your situation, he may be willing to help you pay your way if he really wants you to attend the wedding.
