Hi all

MY Girlfriend and i are traveling to NYC in late feb. She smokes, nothing against the law i might add though. Just wondering what the laws are like in NYC for smoking? is it allowed anywhere?

Only allowed outside. You cannot smoke anywhere indoors unless it's a private residence which allows smoking. I don't know anything about hotel rooms though.

No it has been banned. God help you too, because some people will give you the evil eye when they see her with the cigarette. It personally does not bother me, but sometimes when I go out with a friend of mine who smokes, she almost has to hide it because people are sooo rude!!

She will have to stand in the cold outside the bar or restaurant to puff away!!

If there's a roof over your head, you can't smoke. This also applies to awnings and even umbrellas at sidewalk cafes.

You also can't smoke in open sports arena like Yankee Stadium.

Its banned so you need to go out on the street to light up, some bars/clubs ahve gardens for smokers now.
