During the 80's, the government had no problem raiding black innercity neighborhoods in which thousands of black youth were given criminal records. Why doesn't the government protect the border instead of harrassing our own citizens?

They still don't hesitate to throw the book at citizens. What ticked me off was having a daughter expelled from school for "drugs" because she had 2 MIDOL in her backpack. Wonderful ZERO tolorance that's gone to insane. They'll bust an old man with a joint who's smoking it to be able to eat because of the effects of chemo.....but they don't bother busting drug guys comming across the border if they have less than 500 lbs. I have to sign a book for allergy pills to "curb" the meth problem and tons cross the southern border anyway. You'd think anyone with remaining brain cells could figure out to stop it at the border. Seems to me if they are willing to give amnesty to millions of illegals who have broken the law.....that they should erase all criminal records of citizens who have ONLY committed the same crimes and give them a fair shot as well. Our citizens pay their dues and their crimes follow them for the rest of their lives. These guys do it for years and are expected to get a clean slate. Something wrong with this picture here.

Good question ! We have the Minutemen(ha-ha) who think they're actually helping Border Patrol do their job. What needs to be done is the government should reinforce and revamp the Border Patrol making it more effective. They love harrassing American people. They won't let a relative of mine leave the country because they couldn't understand why she spent 6 months in the USA and 6 months in Panama.

Leadership was different back then. Our leaders aren't so smart now, though sadly. I think they're afriad the hispanics will revolt. But last time I checked there were more legals than illegals...I think drug trade should be stopped no matteer what nationality you are..
