It depends on the city that you live in. Some mayors of major big cities can serve unlimited terms while in metropolitan areas, most mayors serve two or three terms.

It probably depends on the charter of the city in which you live, and the laws of the state in which you live too. Where I live there aren't term limits for the mayor or city council members either.

Here in Florida, all state officials are term limited to 2 terms
