There are many problems with the salvation-by works doctrine of reincarnation. First, there are many practical problems. For example:
1. We must ask, why does one get punished for something he or she cannot remember having done in a previous life?
2. If the purpose of karma is to rid humanity of its selfish desires, then why hasn't there been a noticeable improvement in human nature after all the millennia of reincarnations?
3. If reincarnation and the law of karma are so beneficial on a practical level, then how do advocates of this doctrine explain the immense and ever-worsening social and economic problems - including widespread poverty, starvation, disease, and horrible suffering - in India, where reincarnation has been systematically taught through out its history?
There are also many biblical problems with believing in reincarnation. For example, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 the apostle Paul states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." At death, the, the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. In keeping with this. Luke 16:19-31 tells us that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.
Further, Hebrews 9:27 assures us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Each human being LIVES ONCE as a mortal on earth, DIES ONCE, and then FACES JUDGMENT. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body.

When you reincarnate, you rarely have a memory of previous incarnations. However, all relationships are karmic, so if there is "unfinished business" between you and another (child, sibling, spouse, friend, etc.) your paths will definitely cross again, so the karma can be resolved. In your example, the woman who died in childbirth would likely cross paths with her child in a future incarnation, but not necessarily in her *next* lifetime.

Yes, theoretically. A woman in India was said to have died while her baby was still small and she recalled (as a young girl) every minute detail of her prior life and saw her child after the skeptical family put her to this serious set of "tests" to test her authenticity. The husband presented himself to her as her "prior life" cousin and she identified him correctly as her husband, which rattled him badly, then she asked him about money which she had hidden as an adult that only he and she had known about... it was money he'd promised to give to the religious leaders or a temple (can't remember which) and he felt HORRIBLE because he'd broken his promise and spent it after she died. The girl, at a very young age, when she could talk, kept insisting she wasn't from the village her present life was in and kept trying to leave town for the one in her prior life... there are lots of viable stories like this out there.

Yes, I don't see why not. In fact, many Pagans believe that we do meet the same people over and over again, though the nature of the relationship may change.

Its not real, but if you are a Christian and loose a baby, you will see the child in heaven some day.

I think so. I mean they might encounter each other but... the thing is will they recognice each other?
