helping the poor in Mexico? How many of you pro's have actually gone to the poor in Mexico and volunteered your time and money to help improve their lives. See, then maybe if you helped them down there, they wouldn't need to come here. Or are you all just full of crap, willing to talk the talk but not walk the walk?

So tell us, when did YOU get back from helping the poor in Mexico?

I'd much rather devote my time to helping the poor in my OWN country than in Mexico, or any other foreign country.

I lived and worked in Mexico for a year and half. I taught english in the high school in puerta vallarta plus i helped in the elementary school in Gunjuato. It is very poor and these people come here to better their lives and there families. I think everyone deserves a chance.. They look at it if they come here they can make $400 a week down there they might make $60 a month. You do the math what would you do if you were in there shoes?

How do you know we dont. Why do you think some of us are quick to defend their actions or at least the reasons for which they come here illegally. Perhaps it is you who needs to practice what you preach. What good are you doing for your cause if you're just talking what you read but dont really know both sides? Besides, you might want to at least try to comprehend or understand their plight or why they flee Mexico or wherever theyre from because the reality of it is that theyre not really going anywhere. Sure, maybe something will be done to get rid of some, but I wouldnt get my hopes up thinking itll make a huge difference. So deal girl, relax and try being productive instead.

I think many pro-illegals are so to support their mates. The rest of the illegals they leave for the taxpayers to support. As long as they get the one they want, you know. It's obvious that they care more for their own selfish desires than the well being of this country. If they won't help their own country why would they help Mexico?

I do by donating clothes and money.I guess you're the one who's full of crap now. That's the problem with some people in this country, they go around assuming and slapping labels on people.

Vicky..she poses a VERY good question... If you don't have the balls to answer it without accusations, then don't. Many of them just come to take benefits anyway... I bet when they suck America dry, they'll swim all the way to the UK to overtake that government, too. These illegals don''t care about "their people" as they say. They do it for themselves. The only reason they wave that damn flag on American soil is because they know if one of them gets sent back for being an illegal, ALL of them do... These people will turn their backs on one another if it meant they get that welfare check..

Most Americans have the mentality of "mine, mine, mine".

Very selfish to me, and America is supposed to be a loving, god-fearing country.

They are being helped. They're being supported in their efforts to create a better life in the U.S. And the Mexican illegals will return that support by making the U.S. a better country.

If Mexicans can't find any Mexican politicians who are honest enough or who care enough to help solve their economic problems, why should outsiders bother to help?
You judge Americans harshly while you let these "victims" off easy.

I agree with DJ's answer here. It has seemed to me that most of the pro-illegal supporters, at least on YA, are posting in favor of illegal immigrants because either they are an illegal themselves or are in a romantic relationship with one or they hire them, so it is all about selfishness for their own personal needs and wants and not about what is the best for the country as a whole.
