Tee, tee box, whatever. It's usually the place my shiny new sleeve of Titleist's becomes a shiny new two-pack.

I would assume you are kidding, but the "Tee" is the place. I wish to ask a long time question that has troubled me, what is a "tee box" and where did that come from ? Was it recently introduced into the rules of golf ?

Teeing ground The "teeing ground"is the starting place for the hole to be played. It is a rectangular area two club-lengths in depth, the front and the sides of which are defined by the outside limits of two tee-markers. A ball is outside the teeing ground when all of it lies outside the teeing ground.
