First don't text back right off the bat. You look desperate, even if she is just asking for friendship. You still don't want to look all "I need you back so badly even if just as a friend"
I don't know how serious you two were and how the break up went. But really she dumped you over a text! how lame and cowardly. That's probably the most horrible way to get dumped, by 160 letters of text that costs 10cents to send.
My advice give it a week and text back and tell her what you need too. Be it lets just not talk anymore or lets be friends. But honestly once you date someone its hard to go back as friends. It can be awkward but its possible to just be friends.
Good luck.

1 She's not sorry - as has been said here many times if she couldn't tell you to your face why is she so sorry.
2 Don't what ever you do text her back - whats the point it wont change anything - text a competition instead at least you have a better chance of getting a return if you were to win.
3 And finally in a few weeks you will come to see you are better of without her
Good Luck

Hello!
This Is Totally up to you what you do if you still have feelings for her that you can’t fight,
txt her back but please hold in your mind how she dumped you by txt,
what a cop out she did not have it in her to tell you face to face also why has it taken her this long to get back in touch with you? ,
and why the hell should you go through it all again if she decides she what’s to dump you again.
Plus don’t you think you are worth more than that, it does not take much to treat a person like a human being,
she does not know how.
But as I said in the first place it is entirely up to you.
Happy New Year ,

Telling someone you don't want to go out with them anymore is very very hard. I know texting is the easy, cowardly way out, but sometimes it is difficult to explain to someone, who is perfectly nice, that you don't like them in 'that way'. Sometimes it is just a chemistry thing. She obviously feels very bad about what she did, so she should, but on the other hand I am sure that if you don't put her on the spot about her reasons, then you can remain friends if YOU want to. May be she is a manipulator, but you are the one who knows this girl and if you think she is genuine then it would be a shame to lose a friend. I'd say ring her and ask her out for a coffee and don't go into the why and wherefores, unless she wishes to tell you. Sometimes you go out with someone and you know they just aint the 'one' for you. No reason not to be friends though. If you want to test if she is a true friend and means what she says, wait a week or two then tell her you have met someone else and see how she reacts. Good luck! x

i would run very quickly in the opposite direction from anyone who is capable of breaking up a relationship via text message ! that is just so low. ok - so she's apologised, but the fact remains that she was still able to do this sh*tty thing to u in the first place. i wouldn't give her a second chance - the likelihood is that she'll only end up hurting u again. move on - find someone who respects u more than that.

Sounds like she is thinking about herself and not you. Were you good friends before you got together? How long were you together? These issues would play a role in whether you would want to stay friends (which is difficult to do when there are still feelings there). Maybe just text her and say you have moved on - don't just come to her whenever she wants.

Give yourself a couple of days to think it over.
How do you feel about this person?
Would you consider being their friend in the future?
They did dump you rather cruelly, so I think you have two options. You can either arrange to meet them and find out why they dump you as they did for closure or you can just ignore them and continue your life and hopefully you will meet someone along the way who cares for you as much as you care for them.
Good luck.

Mate, I wouldn't give her anither thought as clearly she had no respect for you by dumping you by text.
Just ignore the text which will make her feel bad if she has any feelings, maybe then she will have the decency to speak to you face to face and have some thought of closure.
Good luck

Just because she used a lousy text message to dump you doesn't mean a text message is the right way to wheedle her way back into your affections. Send her a dismissive message like "If you meant that, why couldn't you say it in person?"

Yeah text her and make her tell you the real reason for dumping you. Because this message can mean two things:
1) Either she wants to start all over again
2) Or she's missing you and wants you to be her friend.
So try to find a reason for the splitting.
