I have always heard that too much of anything is bad for you. Even innocent things like a soda. How about Christian Light just like Pepsi Light?

Stabbing yourself in the leg isn't good in moderation. Same goes for god.

(Da 10:2, 3) An important furnish of wine, symbolized with the aid of the “vine” interior the oft-repeated expression ‘sitting under one’s very own vine and fig tree,’ denotes prosperity and risk-free practices under Jehovah’s righteous rule. Absolutely.

You can get "too much" of any good thing. I certainly don't think I could take a steady diet of champagne and prime rib.

Sex is good, too, but there's a limit to even that. At least for me, and I love it.

Now, I've known some people who fancied themselves as "born again" Christians. They sort of reminded me of people who rebound from chemical abuse and suddenly ---------- everybody becomes an "abuser" to them. They hit bottom, and they bounce so high in the other direction that no human can stand to be around them. I mean, you're happy for them.....to a point, until they just get on your nerves.

Anyway, these "born-agains" became so bloody "charismatic" that it was like nobody else around them - no other believers - were now fervent enough in their belief or their joy.

It was like if we didn't break into tears of joy with them and raise our arms above our heads, we weren't true Christians.

Give me a break.

My mother, her mother and her father were all good Christian people. They took care of their family and were kind and benevolent to their friends and community. Their hearts were filled with love and they never hesitated to walk a straight path to wherever they were needed.

If that's not Christian enough for you.......well, I won't say it. You can fill in the blank._______________!!!

I don't think being a Christian is necessarily defined by how often you read the Bible, how often you go to "prayer meetings," or how joyously you worship.

The bottom line is how you treat the other inhabitants of this planet.

If someone can't get on board with that, fine. Go live your life and worship however you see fit.

Just leave me alone and don't feel that I have to "join in your little reindeer games" in order to fulfill YOUR definition of Christian.

I'm through ranting now.

Peace.

The Bible tells us that we must love the Lord with all our heart. It's a relationship. It's not just something you do on sundays so you can pass the minimum requirements to avoid hell.

Think of it like this. Do you have a spouse or children? What if you chose to do "family lite" and only love, service, respect and enjoy time with that family one day a week? What type of relationship would that be?

You cannot be light on God. He wants all of you. If you are just popping in everyonce in a while to say hi, You don't have a relationship. Ask your wife how she would feel if you were just a good husband some of the time.

Not so much God in itself, but religion - absolutely. Here's a story of a man who took his God and his bible so seriously that his family couldn't handle him any more - they were all sinners in his self appointed angelic eyes. His kids grew up with issues and bitter toward him, his wife left him in frustration and hopelessness, and he ended up all alone. It destroyed his family as well as any gambling or alcohol addiction could. Extreme? Sure, but real none-the-less.
