I've been tanning for maybe about the past year. I get an alright tan but its not a dark tan i want my tan to be noticeable. My body gets tanner than my face and my face tends to get "redder" i get the reddish tint instead of getting the brown or bronze tint. Idk why i get red in the face rather than tan. I'm walking around with a red face instead of a brownish tan and its not like im just red after getting out of the booth or the bed its all the time. I used bronzer and lotions but i stopped them and i still get red face instead of tann. ne ideas?

It may be hereditary and as such there is nothing you can do about it except get used to it! (Are you Irish?)

It's sunburn. A lot of tanning beds have different lights for your face, although not all have this feature. But if you're using a bed that does, maybe the lights are stronger than those in the rest of the bed. In any case, if you are red after tanning, then you are burning, which is not safe. You don't have to be in the sun to get burned, it can easily happen in the beds.
You are better of using sunless tanner, especially on your face. They're kind of a pain in the ***, but a lot of the ones they make now work really well if you apply them correctly/carefully. They make ones especially for the face too.

Tanning booths are very dangerous and have a lot of risk factors involoved. The lights inside the tanning bed may be to intense for your skin to handel. The best way to avoid this is try to tan outside instead of inside, if this doesn't work then get one of those full body professional tans (like the stars use). They arn't as pricey as you may think, and they don't make you orange like home spray tan products do.

your skin is not suited for tanning... if you are pale you are more suseptable to skin cancer. please listen to your body telling you it doesn't like what you're doing. you should also go to your GP and get a skin check for melanomas.
