They are home!
For those returning home it is a blessing and for those that have always been there it is a welcoming of family returning.

What do you expect? If you would have travelled around for your whole life being misstreated and then there it is: the place where you always was told belongs to you and now you have the right to live there in freedom and by your own rules. What point of view would you have? Take a guess.
On 14th of May 1948 the state of Israel was declared independent.

Jews living in the Diaspora have sought to emigrate to Israel for centuries. (Religion, choosen people, promised land etc.).
Survivors of the Nazi holocaust in Europe, as well as Jews from other parts of the world came to settle down in Israel. Every Jew, no matter where he is from will receive granted citizenship in Israel. Some Jews got so exited about and had so high expectation, that they got really dissapointed to find out the reality. Not just only milk and honey. Of course every Jews was thrilled and you would not hear one saying no to Israel.
To read more about Jews and Israel surf the net and you find more than enough, and of course:

Well, the Israeli point of view on the establishment of Isreal? Not quite sure exactly what you mean by this, but...Israel is a nation that has been around for over 3000 years, so they probably like the idea :-)

They are thrilled, obviously.
