Seriously though, if you're looking for something to made the odd smoothie or salad dressing, an immersion blender will probably be better for you. They're quick and easy to use, equally as quick and easy to clean, and take up very little storage space. Here's one that I found on walmart.com:

Hey peep. Just go to the local superstore and buy a hand blender. It may come with a couple of attatchments, but simplicity is the idea. The more expensive it is, the more you'll feel guilty of it sitting in the cupboard, when the thrill of using it goes out the window. All the best. Good shopping and whisking.

My mother's Oster lasted for literally decades before it died. I ended up with a cheap Hamilton Beach one, which is OK since I rarely use a blender. It's still working fine after uh, 12 years now?
