While I have not read the Koran, I'm almost sure it would forbid such a marriage.

It actually depends.
I live in a country where both christians and muslims inhabit. I'm a christian but we have high respect for Muslims.
About your question, the answer usually depends on the Religion of the male. WHy? because we live in a paternalistic community meaning males are superior than females ( but it doesn't mean that we live where women do nothing/useless *not just household chores*).
If the Muslim was the male, then the female would change her religion. Of course she's aware of the consequences. But if the male is a christian, the female Muslim may change her religion.
However, the decision may still depend on the agreement of both sides.

A Christian and a Muslim should NEVER get married under any circumstances. Didn't you ever see "Not Without My Daughter"? The very nature of Islam demands that the husband's religion is the dominant one, and that all children must be raised Muslim. The Bible tells us "be thou not unequally yoked". A Christian should marry ONLY a Christian. This also applies to marrying atheists or other religions. A Christian could not effectively practice his or her faith under the yoke of Islam. They would be a Christian in name only, which isn't a Christian at all.

Well if their families are open minded and dont judge anyone on religion and nationality then they should have no problem. Muslims and Christians marry all the time. Its society that makes it like there is such a problem with it. Its just as easy for them to get married as it would be for 2 christians to marry if without chaos from family and society.

well, its possible. But a lot of ppl would be very mad. But if they do get married, their probably not very devoted to their religion. Ive actually heard of ppl from two different religions getting married b4, they either learn to compromise, convert to the other, or sometimes it just doesnt work out. I think its better to stick to your own religion, doing things like this causes a lot of problems, but if they are sure they are in love, i would say go for it. Love conquers All!

Elope? Would probably work only if they each left they're religions.
Unless one left, and the other converted.
Of course, if these are mainstream instead of Fundamentalist versions of both religions?
Then there would probably be no, or not much of a problem. They are both very liberal. Much more free-thinking.

"If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray...No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."
(Quoted from Charter of Privileges granted in 628 C.E. by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the monks of St. Catherine Monastery in Mt. Sinai)

If one of them is truly a christian and not just calling themselves that because they were born into a western family with a protestant background, then I can't see why they'd want to marry a person who they believe is going to hell and their spouse believes they should be murdered for being an "infidel."

To keep both families happy, a court wedding will suffice.
Then you can party and go on honeymoon and do whatever normal couples do :)
