There are several items that can hinder your prayers. They include:

"If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me." (Psalm 66:18)

"You will receive whatever you ask for in prayer, if you believe." (Matthew 21:22)

"You ask for something but do not get it because you ask for it for the wrong reason-for your own pleasure." (James 4:3)

"In a similar way, you husbands must live with your wives in an understanding manner, as with a most delicate vessel. Honor them as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing may interfere with your prayers." (I Peter 3:7)

And, last, but certainly not least, you must belong to Christ, because an unbeliever's prayers are not heard, except when they are repenting of their sin, and coming to Him.

What God are you praying to?

If you are praying to God the Father through the bridge that Jesus has established for you then your prayers are being answered. Are you listening to that quiet voice of God in you or are you only looking for tangible answers? If that is the case it seems like the answer has been either no or not yet.

The second answerer is very smart.

and he has point.

but I reckon you mean why doesnt He answer according to what you want.

sometimes what you want isnt the best thing for u

and think about this for a second, if you have been a person who ignored God in his good days, and remembered Him only when he needed help, whats the likelyhood that youre going to get your needs answered?

the third case scenario here is, life is a test for us, and He might be testing your faith and patience.

so keep praying...but not just when you need Him. Pray, especially when youre happy. i.e. Be thankful.

There may be many reasons you have not sensed a answer. Maybe no answer is the answer in itself. Or maybe your not ready to receive it yet. I'v heard of prayers being answered many many years later. Maybe more faith is needed on your part. They say to picture it as it has already come to pass. Believe and receive. God Bless...

Are you praying for a sports car? In that case it would be better if you started working for it. God will answer your prayers about a spiritual quest not material possessions.

I think it depends on your attitude.
Obviously, God can't always answer all prayers the way people want Him too...otherwise, everybody would win the lottery!

The Bible says that God will answer the prayers of those that know his Son. You must be a Christian in order to get your prayers answered by God.

Probably because you pray like a child. Asking for things or for help from God. Deal with your problems yourself. The only prayer for an adult is acceptance and thanks.

God does answer your prayers. His answers can be yes, no, or later.
