People pray for our military because they either think it will help keep them safe and do their jobs, or they just do it because others do. What ever the case if you are like bopper77 you should be shot by the military.

We pray for our military because we want the brave men and women in our armed forces to return home safely. These people are fighting to keep this country safe from external threats, and these people deserve our prayers of safety. Only those who have served in the Army realize the sacrifice of fighting a war to protect our freedom. Of course these people deserve our prayers. Why wouldn't they?

Because if we didnt pray for our troops, this country wouldnt be called Land Of The Free anymore, We would be a country under someone elses rule, imagine that, we had to pay more taxes than usual.. This country was led by God believeing people such as Benjamin Franklin and even a couple of pur presidents such as George Bush, Andrew Jackson E.T.C. without prayer we would be hopeless

well militeries help protected our country against terrorism violences from other countries and also suporting other countries
thats need help ,and protections. so they are doing a great jobs
so therefore in oder for them to keep doing great things they r need God's help and protections to go on, and give you better satisfactions. a prayer is not only the militery thats needed, but we 're all needed because you breathing a air which you have no ideal where it's come from and what's keep you alive everyday. so that's why you don't need to be religions to pray God, but when you go through umanities and then see he's glory right there you don't need someone to tell you what to do but you already know it.

???? I assume that since you said we that you pray for our military. Why do you pray to our military? I do it because they are worthy and in harm's way. Deployed or not. They are not the only ones deserving and others should be included.

Im not religious at all, but am in the military. People pray for us so that we are safe and are able to complete our mission, so that people like bopper77 have the right to speak freely, even though they should just keep their trap shut. Yes, i am a trained killer, and even if i did follow the bible, i would still do my duty. Doesnt the bible say something about that as well, doing your job?

Herod's soldiers were doing their "JOB" when they obeyed
orders to kill the first born.
Caesar's soldiers were "LOYAL TO ROME" when they were throwing Christians to the lions.
Hitler's soldiers were doing their "DUTY TO THEIR COUNTRY" when they obeyed orders to fry 6.000.000 Jews.
Nixon's soldiers were "DEFENDING THEIR COUNTRY" when they obeyed orders to burn villages full of women and children in Vietnam.
Saddam's soldiers were also doing their "JOB" when they used chemical weapons on Kurds.
Ariel Sharon's soldiers were "LOYAL TO THEIR COUNTRY" when they mowed down unarmed Palestinian prisoners in the prison camp where they were kept.
Would all the above soldiers deserve any prayers?
No?
Why not? What makes them different from "our military"?
I sincerely hope that we pray for the military to see the light and have the guts to say "NO MORE KILLING" !
Otherwise God may not be listening.....
(Ask the ones coming back in plastic bags).

Even non believers would agree to aid our troops in any way. Many poor kids just needed a job or education and found no help at home. And to think at an age of under 21 they can't legally even drink.

We pray for them to stay safe and to come home to the ones who are worried about them and miss them, that's why!
They are doing the job they bravely voluneered for so the rest of can sit safely behind our computer desks and ask questions like, 'why do we pray for our military????'
