http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luciferianism
I don't know how correct is is. But i found this information in the link above.
Luciferianism can be understood best as a belief system that venerates the essential characteristics that are affixed to Lucifer.
Luciferianism is often identified as an auxiliary of Satanism, due to the canonical identification of Lucifer with Satan. Some Luciferians accept this identification or consider Lucifer as the light bearer aspect of Satan, and thus could properly be called Satanists. Others reject it, arguing that Lucifer is a more positive ideal than Satan. They are inspired by the ancient myths of Egypt, Rome and Greece, Gnosticism and traditional western occultism.
I'm sure there must be a difference but as to what in depth it is i wouldn't personally know.
I do know alot of witches and Pagans get called satanists, by a majority of people who dont know any better, as the belief side of things are completely different.
So im sure some searching is needed here, as i said before, im sure there is a difference.
I hope this helped.
Blessings ALD

There is no difference. Lucifer was the name of Satan before he was kicked out of Heaven. He USED to be a nice guy! In fact, he used to be second only to Christ in rank. But he let it go to his head, and believed that he could run the universe better than God. After he fell, he was given the name "Satan", which means "adversary".
A Luciferian cult would be like the Freemasons. A Satanic cult would be like Charles or Marylin Manson. But they both worship Satan in one form or another.

Traditional Luciferianism is the worship of Lucifer as an actual deity.
Satanism is a religion of the ego, worshipping yourself. There is no belief in any deity.

None really. There is a "Luciferian Light Group" in Tampa, but they seem to be the garden variety LaVeyian Satanists, i.e, criminal tendencies, racist, drug and alchol addicition, hate for Christians, etc.
