I have a puzzling behavior situation with my little mini doxie.......she was neutered about 6 months after she was born, but her silly behavior of wanting to still 'get familiar' with my leg, especially when i'm laying down trying to take a nap is just plain weird!!! anyone else have this problem and how did you handle it? serious answers only, please!!! thanks. Could it be she still has hormones that make her behave this way????

I assume you have a female? The problem has nothing to do with hormones or the spaying. It is a dominance issue. She is trying to be the pack leader. When she grabs your leg remove her firmly, placing her two front paws on the floor and tell her firmly (without yelling) "NO". Be consistent, do this every time. When you eat, you eat first, make her wait for her meal. When you go through the doorway, you go first. When you put her food or water bowl down on the floor, make her sit first. When you give her a treat make her sit first. She has to learn that YOU are pack leader. All of these things will show her who is boss.

some adult men seem to have that project, I continuously locate it humorous... adult men do not even pick to make the appt. to get their dogs neutered! If he's that up on protecting the dogs intacts, some human beings visit the extreme and get psuedo testicles surgically implanted into the dogs scrotum after a neuter. weird and wonderful, yet to each his own.... so long because the dogs is neutered, i do not care :) once you're dogs are literally not reg'd or do no longer come from a line of reg'd father and mom that are shown OFA cleared, then do not do it. Ohhh such an excellent type of project can arrise, like you stated. i imagine you may stick consisting of your gut... Will you also be preparred to take contained in the dogs that you create if the recent proprietor can now no longer keep them? it truly is YOUR responsiblity when you breed. and then THEIR offspring.. what in case you promote to a nutjobby who appeared large before everything and finally end up breeding the dogs each warmth? it really is also your duty.... i do not comprehend, sooooo a lot is in risk, for you AND the dogs. you've maximum of your info instantly, i might want to easily say do not do it. you comprehend you may not, i imagine it really is the reality.

It's probably dominance related. I wouldn't think it'd be hormones this late in the spaying.

Edit: Actually, "neuter" is a term commonly used for altering male dogs, but it's not gender specific. ("Spay" is tho, it's female and "castrate" is too, it's male...but "neuter" can be used properly for either sex.)

first of all you SPAY and female and Neuter a Male -- so i am not sure if you have a boy or girl... humping isn't always sexual it is a sign of dominance... perhaps she thinks she is pack leader in your household.. a firm scruff shake and a firm "NO" will help
