Yep love firefox, on the rare occasion it crashes it doesn't take everything else with it.
It has a wide selection of addons for free best being adblock plus which blocks adverts.
IE7 has one of the worst interfaces I have seen (hate hate hate) firefox uses a more familiar layout plus has lots of themes (noia is great)
you can download dictionaries for firefox giving spell checking, IE may do this now but to be honest I don't use it much so i haven't bothered looking.
Only good thing about IE is it starts faster but firefox is faster in general once started. The only thing I use IE for these days is windows updates

I'm a new convert to Firefox. It's just much clearer and the Tabs, and extra bits you can download. Explorer tended to seize up and then quit often. Evidently on the continent everyone uses Firefox.

The layout and tabbed browsing is much better although I mostly use it because of the wide range of add-ons that are available for download as well as the themes. Although sometimes I do use IE7.
Have a look through the link below, I think it sums up why mozilla is better than IE7.

The wider array of add-ons, plug ins and skins to start.
It's more secure too.
IE7 is a nasty rip off of firefox.
Firefox is free, make the leap!
You know you wanna!
