Walnut is quite rich. Depending on your taste & furniture You can either break up the warm richness with a Sage, Baby blue, or even a Periwinkle. That will bring a cool/refreshing look. If you like the richer lifestyle, a nice pale Buttercup or Champaign. This looks nice with a Dark Chocolate davenport (couch) & Deep Red or Maroon accent throw rugs & Bronze picture frames & lamps.
Happy decorating!!!

You didn't mention what color your cabinets are, but I hope you tried to match the wood somewhat, but if not, the color of the cabinets will affect the color of your walls. That said, brown and steel grey is a great new color combination. This will give you some great color and style while, because the grey is considered a neutral, leaving your room feeling lighter. You can add some warm orange tones for accents to make the room pop!

If you have a piece of your walnut flooring, take it to your local paint store and have it scanned. The computer should be able to "read" the colour and give you a paint colour to match exactly.
Then go two shades darker or lighter depending on the look you want. Don't be afraid of darker on the walls, just be sure to go with lighter tones in the decoration.
