It's hard to say because you didn't describe yourself enough.
Confidence may all be generated in your ability to help others rather than yourself. It's called limited self esteem.

Ask yourself what you do to get dates for others, it seems to be working! And then do it for yourself. If you have been a Cyrano for others, maybe they will return the favor and voice your interest to the one you want to date. Most people just need to know you are interested. Take a chance on yourself. Show the person you really are to those you'd like to date.

Because you're not taking any chances with your ego when setting up a friend. What do you care if they don't wanna go out with one of yr friends? And I'd guess you're pretty good at talking up a friend but not yourself. You're gonna need to step up to the plate & get shot down a few times if you want a date for yourself.
Pretending you're setting up a friend (not taking it too seriously)while asking for yourself will help you relax too.

WHY are you getting your friends dates, is the question.... are you a Yenta?? I remember that that sort of became a role for the friendly, dateless young woman back in high school... she just kind of slid into it... she was sort of the junior Mother Hen.... looked after all her friends and actually got a little too involved in their lives. You may need to just back out of some of those dependent relationships and start looking for some fun in your own life. A life coach could help!

Your to busy helping your friends get dates, stop helping them and start helping yourself. Get some good looking clothes, start keeping your hair, teeth, breath nice and oh, yeah some good looking shoes. You'll find what your looking for just don't give her to a friend., date her yourself cause you seem to be the one finding dates for your friends.

You should stop getting your friends dates, maybe one of the guys or girl you so kindly offered up to date one of your friend was really someone who liked you but at the moment you offered him away then they thought you didn't like them.
Maybe could be? You never know!

Because when you are approaching someone for your friends, you aren't extremely concerned with the outcome. But when you go for someone you want, you don't want to be turned down, and that lack of confidence shows through.
Women like strong men, not just physically strong either. But once they get you, than want you to be able to be cuddly on the couch with them. It's weird, what attracts them to men is the exact opposite of what they want in a relationship a lot of times. Maybe they like to feel they have "changed" their man.

Take stock of yourself. Compare yourself to those around you. Do you like what you see? Are you happy with yourself? If you are a good person (kind of heart) love will come to you. Be true to yourself and treat others as you wish to be treated. Don't be a poser as everyone can see through that.

I hate that, but i used to be the same way when i was younger. I used to always be hooking up my friends but i never had a boyfriend because guys always wanted to be my best friend and not my boyfriend. You just have to be patient.

1. Your more confident when you know its someone else that might get shot down.
2. All the other girls see you talking to every girl and either dont know your trying to pick them up for someone else or just plain dont like the fact that you do that.
