If she eats only her own feces then feed her pineapple its an oldies but a goodie - they don;t like the taste of the end result. Also there is a product called Wild Forage which works in the same way.
She will continue to urinated and defecate in kennel if it smells like it and often what we can't smell (enzymes) they can smell you need to clean the kennel and her blankets with an enzyme killer such as the laundry powder Bio Zet as it kills the enzymes.

Some people add one teaspoon of garlic powder to their food with good results. It also helps repel fleas and ticks. A dog can hold their urine one hour for every month of age when very young. Feed the dog at a different time than usual so that it will form poop at a more convenient time for proper elimination. Stop giving water around 7 pm. These ideas may really help.Give it a try for two weeks so that the elimination times will change in your favor. Good luck and have a dog gone great year.

Most of the time when an animal eats their poop it is because of lacking something in there diet. Try feeding a high quality pet food. You will have to get this from a pet store as all the foods at the grocery store are just like feeding your kids Burger King everyday! Have you tried the pills have and the powder call Forbid. also try MSG in the food. Most pets store or vets carry it! You will find people will not agree with the food thing but if you would like to check ask you vet what food they like! ask them if they would feed grocery store food. Hope this helps I know it can be very gross to watch!

Most pet stores will sell pills you can give your dog that will stop this. I would make sure you're feeding her a high quality food, as sometimes they will do this if they're not getting the nutrition they need. If that's not it, I'd buy one of the products they sell for it and use it for a while until the habit is broken.
As for going to the bathroom in her kennel, assuming you're not leaving her in there for too long, the kennel is probably too big for her. If the area is too large, then they will go to the bathroom because they don't see the kennel as being a small, den-like space. If you're sure the kennel is the right size, then I'd take her to the vet if I were you, as she might have some kind of health problem that is effecting her ability to hold herself.

You need to consult with an animal behaviorist... this is a big significant problem for this animal... she's not a puppy anymore. I'd die if my dog ate poop, but that's just me. She had one accident in her kennel one night (she sleeps in there) and she was majorly distressed-- crying and wailing in a way we have never heard before-- and I got up right away to see what was wrong. She had the runs. It was disgusting, but she wasn't any more impressed than I was. I took her out, cleaned out the kennel and bathed her right away. She is kind of like a cat in that she likes to be clean and spends quite a bit of time grooming herself. If she ever ate her poop I would never have a dog again-- maybe she knows that(?)

If she is "going" in her kennel, then it is possible your kennel is too big. It should only be big enough for her to stand up and turn around comfortably in. Any bigger, and they will soil in the crate.
Be sure she is being let out at least every four hours or so to use the bathroom. When you let her outside, keep her on a leash so she cannot get to the feces to eat them. Also, try to keep the yard as clean as possible so there is nothing around to eat.
It's a bad habit, and it will take a long time to get her to stop doing this. If the behavior persists, you could try to deter her by using a dietary supplement called "Forbid" that helps with this problem.

it seems like she's in the kennel too long at a time,,, if she's in there long enough to mess, then she needs some outdoor time.
pick up the poop as soon as she does it, and maybe potty train her.
also, around a year old, she should be going into her first or second heat...... i've seen many female dogs do that beause they are losing a nutrient in their stool that they can't get anywhere else.
if you're concerned with it, then call ur vet.
good luck!!

I was told by a breeder that dogs who eat their poop have a vitamin deficiency. Try getting canine multi-vitamins and some of the Deter stuff. If it doesnt stop, a vet should be able to provide you with some helpful suggestions.

Yeah, know this problem well! It is called coprophagia. Believe it or not, although disgusting to us many animals do this. It's really a question of getting to it before she does.
Apparently a dog's favourite to eat is rabbit poo and this is certainly borne out by my dogs...they love it! Ugg!
Eating her own faeces will not harm her it doesn't mean she is lacking in anything.
Perhaps a good idea would be to walk her first thing in the morning and last thing at night until she goes then less chance of it happening in the kennel.
Good luck.

I know a few dog`s do this when they need worming ! try the drontol tablet`s it is just 1 dose and it last`s for 3 month`s or a more expensive choice ( but easier ) the new liquid wormer drop`s you just empty the vile onto the dog`s skin around the neck area , job done .
Good luck , ( let`s hope the dog doesn't jump up at anyone and start licking their face ..................... )
