Does your van have dual zone climate control (two temperature control levers)? If so, it sounds like you have a problem with the driver side temperature blend door, actuator or some electrical problem in that circuit.

Does the defroster work on the right? If it does, then

The hoses that send out the heat (under the dash) has either come loose, or, perhaps a little mouse : ) has built a home there, therefore clogging that side of the line.
Its pretty simple, look under the dash you can easily find the hoses.
one hose should come from fire-wall, then 2 hoses will come of it, one going to left and one going to right. If the one on right hasn't come off, then take it loose and make sure nothing is clogginng the hose.
