Here is a list of everything we can DNA test for.

The problem with what you are asking is that every breed of dog has exactlly the same gene locations, otherwise when you bred two breeds togeather the ofsprings would be sterile (like a mule)

lol each breed does not have a different kind of DNA. There is a difference between a human and a dog but not a lab and a poodle. There is DNA testing to find the parents etc.

There is NO test that can tell what breed a dog is. DNA can verify parentage IF both parents have DNA on file.

Miriam is correct!! There is NO DNA test to tell breed. With DNA from both parents, parentage can be proven. Some diseases can be tested for with DNA. There is a DNA test for coat color in certain breeds. That is about it. Not very advanced!!!!!!!

There is DNA testing but from my understanding they can not tell breed only bloodline, so if you had a sire and dam and u wanted to see if your dog was there pup they would compare the 3 dogs DNA.

No. Not to determine breed.

You can use DNA testing to determine parentage, but you need samples from all the dogs in question.

There are DNA tests for some genetic diseases, like Basset Hound Thrombopathia.

there is dna testing for dogs, but you have to go through a proper testing lab. your vet could not do this.
