I've actually never eaten a philly cheese steak, but from what I've heard about them it sounds like it would be good with BBQ sauce.
I'm sure you're not the only one putting ketchup on them.

before everything, to make issues really hassle-free on your self visit the keep and get some Steak-Umms. it truly is what i exploit and it really is really hassle-free. you'll locate them contained in the freezer section. All you want to do is position them contained in the pan frozen and warm temperature over medium warmth, even as the beef starts to thaw commence shredding the beef with 2 forks, being careful if utilising a non-stick pan. If no longer utilising non-stick use some Pam non-stick cooking spray. In yet another pan saute some onions and peppers. basically prepare dinner over medium warmth with somewhat oil till the onions and peppers commence to experience delicate. i might want to honestly commence this in the previous the beef because it truly is going to take longer. once the beef and peppers are carried out position the peppers and onions on accurate of the steak in 2 piles. Meat and vegetables on your son and also you. the right with a cut up hoagie roll so the bun can steam and grow to be delicate. This takes only a pair minutes. once delicate positioned a spatula below the beef and vegetables even as keeping onto the roll and turn over filling the roll with the beef and vegetables. accurate with cheese whiz or in case you pick different cheese, positioned the cheese on the beef and veggie pile in the previous including the bun to steam. desire this helps :) delight in.

I personally hate ketchup, but I am surprised more people don't do it. I would think it would give it a kind of BBQ flavor.

If it's made right, then there's no need to add anything else to it. The juices from the meat, onions & peppers should do all the talking! LOL
Sorry, I'm with your hubby - none for me!
