Sounds like your body is just doing its job in trying to clear out toxins in your body. If you are over the worst of the flu then start cheering because it means your body has been really efficient in fighting the thing off! There are several routes that the body can use to get waste and foreign matter/poisons out of the body - through going to the loo, through the skin via sweating and other stuff through the pores and via the fluids from the eyes/ears and nose. The latter can be almost like water or as heavy as thick mucus. If the colour of it is clear or white then you are probably clear of the infection. If it's yellow or green, there may be bits of the infection there that your body is still fighting off. We all have different primary ways of releasing stuff when the system is under stress. You may be more inclined to eliminate toxins from your body through the nose/mucus way than the other ways when your body is under attack.

Sorry mate, you have a cold not the 'Flu', that's a killer!
The 'snot' is a mix of water and the bodies system to rid it of the infection you have, which is protein based.
hence the old tale: 'feed a cold and starve a fever'.
You need to eat with a cold but just drink fluids with the flu.
If your blowing 'keep going' that's good. Blocked sinuses are very problematic, but 'Flu' as I stated earlier is really a killer, if that's what you had............I would not be answering this (just yet anyway), have some nice chicken soup and watch TV.
God Bless.

You have a cold or the flu - When you have either one of these, your nose goes into mucus-making overdrive to keep the germ invaders out of your lungs and the rest of your body, where they might make you even sicker than you already are. You know what happens then: The mucus runs down your throat, out your nose, or into a tissue when you blow your nose. Or it can fill your sinuses, which is why you get that stuffy feeling.

It's your body's natural response to rid itself of unwanted organisms. Don't fret. Keep your hands and face clean and drink fluids to replace what you are losing. If it is so bad that you have chapping on your face, try Puffs, Plus Tissues that have a moisturizer built in. Where were those when I was a child??? Chuckle (I Hate The FLU, and COLDS) Good Luck!!

your sinuses are draining your body creates histamin when you are ill and it pumps out all that crap from your nose as a defense mechanism. it should clear when you are all well but cold weather prompts it too. if what you are blowing out is clear i would not worry about it if it is yellow or green you might have a sinus infection.
