Coffeee ground type bowel movements can be a sign of bleeding in your gastro-intestinal tract..usually not in the lower bowel, but in the stomach. This is a serious finding and should be checked by a physician as soon as possble. The soreness in the kidney area could or could not be related. I urge you to make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible so he/she can do a test to see if there is blood in your stool , then, if necessary send you for x-rays or other tests to learn the cause of the bleeding. You need to take this seriously, but I do not want you to be afraid to go to the doctor. No one likes to have to deal with these kinds of problems, but you need to do it. I hope you get excellent care from your doctor and feel well soon.

When bowel movements resemble coffee grounds, it indicates the possibility of internal bleeding. You should see a doctor at once to see if it is, indeed, blood and where it is coming from. Don't put it off. It could be something serious but it definitely is something you need help medically correcting.

what you describe could possibly be occult blood, meaning that you are bleeding somewhere in your intestinal tract...it is considered a medical emergency, and you need to see a doctor asap.
