I am a U.S. Permanent Resident and I will be applying for a U.S. citizenship next month because I lived here in the U.S. for almost 5 years now (5 years in March 2007). However, I will be getting married to an alien who lives in the Philippines on January or February 2008. I am worried that if ever there is a delay in the processing of my citizenship, we will be married while I am still a Permanent Resident. Will this cause a problem to my application of citizenship and in bringing my wife here in the U.S.?

Hey if you apply for citizenship in March 2007 you will get your citizenship by 7-2007 or 8-2007 so you are OK if you going to marry that person in 2008 I truly recomended that you it all legaly like marry that person and apply after you get marriage license and if that person is in another country can take up to 6 months for that expouse to entry the US legally...Not more then that all depends of the Legal advice you get=Lawyer Good luck!!!

Applying for your spouse shouldn't cause any problems with your Citizenship application. Permanent Residents are permitted to sponsor a spouse. If you are worried though, consult an immigration lawyer.

Hopefully you will have your US Citizenship before you marry as being a citizen considerably speeds up the petition for your spouse (6-10 months versus 5 years for a PR). However, even if you don't get your citizenship before you marry, and apply as a PR, your petition can be bumped up to that of a citizen once you have your naturalization papers simply by notifying USCIS.

No, it should not. Just marry for love and not for citizenship or convenience. Once you became a US citizen, your wife will be able to be LPR very soon.
