They are NOT ARMED!! Our National Guard are there without any weapons and are not authorized to persue illegal invaders. They were attacked by ARMED men!! OUR GUARDSMEN SHOULD BE ARMED AND HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO PERSUE AND "SHOOT IF NECESSARY" ANYONE ILLEGALLY ENTERING OUT COUNTRY!!!

Are you serious??? In the headline it says they were "OVERRUN" and with the threat of being courtmartialed these days (if you don't know what that is, watch the movie "Rules of Engagement") they can't fire back if they don't know for sure if the enemy has weapons. And if they were outnumbered, I'd rather them retreat and save their lives than sit there and die for nothing if they were that outnumbered. And the article said all the Mexicans retreated into Mexico after the border patrol took over. So it really doesn't matter this time that they saved their own lives. So maybe we should put more National Guardsmen at our border, huh..??!!

Other reports claim that the guardsmen did not have bullets in their guns or at their post but were only set out as a scare tactic if you will. If this is truly the case our government should now relize the importance of giving them the leway to have and use weapons to stop the problem.

It's really judgemental to form your opinion from a brief news writeup. Do you know what their rules of engagement were? What is it they were there for and what they were supposed to do? The National Guard is not a law enforcement agency, and they were probably directed not to engage in fire fights. Whether you or I agree with it, I think the Federal government would really not like to explain to a foreign government how a bunch of their citizens were gunned down on U.S. territory. Argue the policy, not the citizen soldiers thrown into the breach.

Hey "Stephanie", can you please fix that stupid make-up you wear?
I know you are hispanic, because you attack every single question on here with "How great ILLEGALS are"...
Did you even READ....or CAN YOU EVEN READ?
Did you know that 85% of all child molestation cases are "ILLEGALS"? I only hope one day it is YOUR child that get's abused, then maybe you will open your eyes to the growing problem.

Answer:....the "gunmen retreated knowing they didn't have much time before all hell broke loose. WE had back-up on the way....Did they?

There wouldn't be a problem with drug dealers coming over here if people wouldn't use drugs. Obviously they are making loads of money off the good old American people who NEVER do anything wrong.

our Guards were put on the border to help only, not enforce...isn't that ridiculous ...they need to be given the order to shoot on sight - no exceptions!
