Im not sure I know more about him than you do, but I know a enough to answer I think, It is very difficult to say how he would perform a hundred and fifty years after his death. But I dont think he would fight it that much differently than our current President. His wartime policies, arent much different than our current president's, you dont have many options fighting this kind of war.

I think one of Lincoln's main goals was to unit the country during the civil war. I don't know a whole lot on the man, so I can't answer your question that well. But I do think he would have worked very hard to unit the country during the war.

I don't think he ever would have invaded. He was more of a thinker/pensive president and the WMD intel and "threat" arguments definitely would not have passed his intellectual scrutiny. I also think he would have studied and understood the complexities of the Middle East and it's history more than Bush evidently did.

Certainly, he would have gotten solid backing and a major commitment from Western Europe before ever going in.

And he would have pursued Bin Laden vigorously until he was caught. On principle alone. Not to mention the practicality of it.

In short. Lincoln was not a cowboy! He had no swagger to him, and he wasn't a flag waver. He was a quiet, intelligent, solid, unassuming, and thinking American President.

Nothing like the man we have in the White House now.

Lincoln surrounded himself with a variety of politicians of the day, including opponents. He would have had more and better advice from the start.

He was the perfect president for those times. Bush most certainly is not.

To come up with any supposition, Lincoln would have to be updated to today's way of thinking, attitude and way of life. In such, we wouldn't have the "Lincoln" people are familiar with, but a whole different man. Then who know what that man would do.

Being a thinker he would thought it out first and then would have considered the damage that would have been done to Americas
reputation but he would not backdown from a threat.

He would go there in person and find out in person what needs to be done, not send someone else.
