It's normal to be a bit akward towards people you know since a short time. You should become used to the new people. Give them that change. They deserve it, and you are obliged to yourself. New people are always strange because they are different. respect and accept this and look at the nice side of different people. Find some interests you have in common with people where you can talk about, and build a nice conversation with. You will help you. I am sure.

Well, there's not one universal formula for self-confidence. If you're looks aren't the reason you're insecure then consider other options. Why do you feel shy when you converse with others? Are you afraid that people will judge you based on your opinions. Do you think people will judge you cause you don't have an opinion? The only person that knows how to break out of that shell is you. Sometimes it's hard to change the way you are with people that you already know. You may want to start being a bit more outgoing with new people you meet. Also, if your always uncomfortable around people you may have a medical condition known as Social Anxiety Disorder. Might be worth while asking a doctor about it. Good Luck

You sound insecure with yourself. A large part of the ability to be social or "outgoing" is confidence and comfort with one's self. You indeed may be beautiful on the outside, but do YOU feel as beautiful on the inside as you are on the out? Create that belief and comfort with yourself, then share your beauty with the world honey!
Note: you might also want to try reading more books and reading the newspapers, they're always good conversation starters.

practice with ppl that you wont ever see again, like at a store or somehting. pretend that there is noone in the store that would not want to talk to you and that you are the hottest girl in the room. and act accordingly.just try it. ppl do not know the difference between confidence and fake confidence.
also ppl like ppl who laugh and smile and enjoy them, and themsevles. no one wants to talk to a person who thinks the world is out to get them yadayada yada.lol but even if you did feel that way then it is okay to pretend you are not. once you make it a habit not to complain then your whole mood will change. same with the shyness. dont let ppl leave you in a corner just because they think that you dont want to talk to them or that you are scared. let them know that you are confident, beautiful, bright, and friendly. worked for me. First of all you have to ask, "why am I afraid of being around or even talking to people." Make sure you are being honest and truthful when you are asking this question to yourself. Once you come up with an answer then work on it. OHHH and being beautiful doesn't have anything to do with how you act around others.

A muscle grows when you work out. And personal traits change and evolve as people get more social. In order to overcome shyness, you have to challange it, get more social, talk to more people etc.
Besides, if you have a boyfriend, you are not that shy after all.

Practice and more practice I was terribly shy in my teens, but finaly got over it by taking risks, talking more, saying goodmorning ,thank you,and i dare myself at times to do something i'm afraid to like public speaking.Learn to speak your mind nevermind others. What they think of you is none of your business anyway. And if you need therapy go for it .It has helped me.Peace

maybe you're just someone who must feel very confident towards a person to talk seriously with him (or her)...
being beautiful is not meaning you must be expensive... it can help you but it won't make everything....
try to found some friends with wich you are comfortable, but don't forget that no one mus like everyone
