The City of Laguna Beach is located at the end of a ravine that terminates at the ocean. It is a relatively small town with many of its citizens in the arts and music community. The homes are mostly built into, or extend over, the hillsides ,and are extremely expensive. It is a nice place if you can afford it.
The television program "The O. C.", is just that, a made up story aimed at the "fairy tale" life of rich, privileged adolescents. It no more reflects real American life than does "Eastenders" reflect a true British life style. Some do find it entertaining, however it's American competitor, "One Tree Hill" is far more popular among American youth.

This show only showcases the rich and elite within the OC. By and large, it is not an indicator of how most people in the OC live.

I have never seen the TV program, but, I live near Laguna Beach, it's a great place to visit.

I think it is stupid and in no way reflect the way most teens in the U.S. live... not to say they didn't wish they did! Those kids seem to have a false sense of how the world works and feel they are entitled to everything.
