We're arrogant because we're right and you're wrong. If you think you're right and I'm wrong you ought to be arrogant too.

I don't think atheists are arrogant. I think people in this country are used to having religion protected under a veil of illogic.

Religion is the only area where you can claim that you believe in something that in spite of evidence to the contrary and think that that "faith" is a positive thing. In no other area of society would this defense be accepted. But when you call it a religion, then that belief must be respected.

For the most part when an atheist says something that is interpreted as arrogant by a theist, it is actually just a rational observation and challenge. Its just we theists aren't used to having their beliefs challenged in that way.

If you think I'm missing the point please post again with some specific examples. And I won't defend people who are honestly trolling just for a reaction, those people are prevalent on both sides.

I know some fundies. I don't despise them. I despise the fact that they think my life should be run according to what they were taught and when new info is avail, they deny it.
Also, someone who believes they're one of the few that understand/know God and everyone else is wrong & going to Hell, are the truly arrogant ones.

Thank you for admitting that fundamentalists are arrogant. And you're right that atheists can be arrogant sometimes. It's a human weakness. Sometimes we just get mad at all the hate and ignorance shrouded in piety. But as to which group is more arrogant--no atheist I know of is more obnoxiously smug than Ann Coulter, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Bill O'Reilly, and other members of their elitist and intolerant Holier-than-Thou Club.

Pride is not arrogance. Any religious claim made without proof is arrogance, atheism in itself is the greatest self-humbling belief. Why believe you are no more important than a dog when you can believe you are one of god's chosen people, destined to be rewarded by the all powerful creator of the universe? Religion is just arrogance condensed.

Also, how dare you generalize about me! You do not know me, and you have no "right" to spew lies pertaining to my beliefs and therefore my arrogance.

Don't worry about all of that stupid stuff some of the others said. Well you were probably expecting it lol. I agree with you though but don’t know why they are either. I know quite a few atheists. Only ONE of them isn't arrogant. My cousin. He is actually very gentle spirited and people are often shocked when he tells them that he doesn’t believe in God. To tell you the truth, I think he knows deep down that God exist but just doesn’t say it or acknowledge the fact. lol

Well, its because of people like you who are being arrogant and blind to the discussions given by atheists. You probably hear things contradicting your faith thus you came up with them being arrogant. Are you sure you are not arrogant about other religions?

It is human nature to be arrogant. You will find arrogance in many people. It knows no race, religion, nationality or economic status.

Arrogance is an unbecoming trait. Period.

Why are you so arrogant to generalize atheists? How arrogant of you to make such an assumption.

I suppose that's your opinion. Seems to me believing that you're special because "god" the so-called ultimate being in the universe listens to your prayers and actually cares about you is the height of arrogance.

I have noticed this too. Atheists are very angry people. I have yet to encounter a single atheist who is not angry, rude and disrespectful. It's like some code that they have to follow. IMO that only shows what people are like when they really don't know Jesus. Afterall they hate God so how can we expect them to act towards other people?
