You must not be a very happy person if the only thing you look forward to is trying to provoke anger from people you'll never meet.

Maybe you should read C.S. Lewis. It would be more constructive.

C.S. Lewis was an athiest who discovered the beauty of the Christian religion.

"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.
C. S. Lewis "

Mmm…are you a big fan of Richard Dawkins? I have perused several of his works, and his most recent book “The God Delusion” uses the “flying spaghetti monster” analogy to shows that it is impossible to prove a universal negative, thus the challenge put forth by Christian apologists to DISPROVE the existence of God is fundamentally misguided. Quite frankly I find it an interesting way to prove a point.

To answer you question, I can’t respect a flying spaghetti monster as the all powerful creator of the universe because no one can prove its existence, and it offers nothing of explanatory value for why and how the universe came into existence, and is therefore a superfluous explanation, just as God is. To answer that the universe was created by God or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, merely begs the question of who created God or the Flying Spaghetti Monster. You are merely positing an explanation that is more complex and mysterious than the thing you are trying to explain.

Look at this link below. In it Richard Dawkins elucidates this point with great wit and humor on the Colbert Report:

Why can't atheists think of an intellectually credible way to argue against the existence of God?
