If you're open to anything, I'd go with a settle blue like the one girl mentioned. It would be very relaxing. A calm, almost seafoam green wouldn’t be too bad either if you know how to work with it. It would also cause the atmosphere to be quite relaxing. If you don’t mind brighter colors, yellow is in. A nice medium yellow with yellow and red accents, bed spread etc. Combining primary colors together in a room takes allot of skill but if you search for tips etc it should turn out fine :) Yellow also doesn't look bad on walls if you use a deep royal purple for almost everything else. They actually don't look bad together because they're compliments. But if you ever chose to do that, don't go with a bright yellow, use a golden yellow. It would give the room a royal and classic feeling. You would probably like it. Allot of people do. I had to design one on paper for color theory...it was GORGEOUS.

This lowes site might be able to help you choose a color scheme. I learned this stuff in color theory, make sure you read through it thoroughly so you chose something you can be happy with for a while. Good luck :)

Since you have lavender on your wall now, I would suggest buying KILZ and prepping your walls with that, first. Then, it'd be a good idea to get some color samples and pin them up on the wall. You need to look around your room and see what colors you have in there now. If you're wanting to redecorate, along with repainting, then redecorate first. You can get paint color samples to go with the new decor! If you're going to keep what you have in your room now, then just go ahead and get some samples and put them up on the wall. One important thing to remember...once you've started painting, you'll notice that the paint color may look different on the walls. Depends on the lighting you have in your room and the other colors you may have. Hope this helps! P.S. Keep the color light. I'm glad you're painting over the lavender. I don't like purple walls!

its depending on the size. if the room is small you want lighter colors to make it look bigger. if its big adn mony isint a prob. try painting a feture wall of a dark color of your choice and the other wals a nutral color like a cream or somehting like that. if you have draipes think of the color that would go wiht them htere are endles posabilitys depending on your prefrence if you like beeing alone paint your room a dark but warm color to give your room a cozyness. you can go to the home depot and ask them about it to.
