I catch what I think is a charlie horse in the arches of my feet...It doesn't happen too often but when it did in the past, it was for a couple of minutes and now when I catch it, it only lasts for a minute. What is does is my arch of my feet turns very hard and it starts to cramp up and my toes go in different directions. Is this normal? Did you ever get this? What can be wrong with me?

When I catch them, I grab my foot and massage it til it goes away. The pain hurts so bad that sometimes I cry.

I don't know how to prevent them but whenever I get them I put my bare foot on a cool floor or stand in the bathtub. Something about the cold on the bottom the my feet really help relieve the cramp. I hope someone gives you the answer on how to prevent them cuz I know the pain you're going through. I'll be watching for answers too. Hope this works for you.

Eat more bananas, drink more milk or cheeses. Lay off the fast food that has so much salt. If you are going to eat fast food order your fries without salt then ask for the salt packets. This way you have control of your salt intake. To much salt without the water to replace it, hurts.

Water is best. If drinking coffee make sure you have water near you too. Hope this helps.

It is normal. Its normal for muscles to cramp. Especially when they are not getting the proper nutrients that they need. Try taking more, potassium, calcium and make sure to drink lots of water. Any one of these lacking can bring on muscle cramps.
