Give them each a blanket or pet bed to sleep on. Once their scents are on them, switch them so the cat has the dog's bed, and the dog has the cat's bed. It will really help if they get to know one another's scent.
Introduce the cat to the dog when the dog is asleep. Hold her, pet her, comfort her, but take her to the puppy while the puppy is sound asleep and she sees he is no threat.
The cat is going to be scared of the dog for a while...that's normal. It's also normal for her to hiss and scratch at the dog. Don't reprimand her for it, just pet her and comfort her. Talk to her, tell her what a nice puppy it is. (Sounds silly, but the soothing words help.)
It is going to take a while...maybe a month or more before the cat is finally completely comfortable with the dog. Just keep them in separate rooms (except while being supervised) until they can tolerate one another.
Good luck.

cats fight dogs. i have a big dog and my cats will hiss at her but my puppy is the same size as the cats and has never attacked any of them . if any thing the cat will hurt your puppy a little and that will get the pup the right idea they will avoid each other on their own, just don't put them in a room together

Leave them in a room with each other for a while. dogs usually take very well to cats but cats can be spiteful when a dog is introduced to the family. make sure they spend a lot of time together and make sure you fuss over the cat quite a bit as he/she may feel left out.

I'd watch the puppy, considering if he's going to be a big dog he could eventually attack the kitten, but I would say the cat will let the dog know who's the boss if he messes with it, usually by hissing or if the dog pushes it, scratching.

cats will allways rule over dogs even if dog was first in the house.
the cat will in time tollerate the dog but dont rush things and never forse a cat ie put on the lead as its the cats house.
after maybe 2 to 3 months things get into a routine it should be fine? allthough the cat will tell the dog off if it gets hacked off

cats and dogs get along like, well like cats and dogs. you don't say how old the cat is, but if it's full grown there may be problems with a puppy. don't worry they will each learn to get along with each other. the cat will probably just stay out of the dogs way. just feed them apart.

Just leave them to their own devices (i don't mean alone in a room!
I have 4 dogs, a Lab, a Rottie and 2 Border Collies.
I have 2 cats, one of which will rub heads with all four dogs, one which doesn't want to know! You have to really let the cat decide on its own.

Hold back the puppy, not the cat. He is the new addition, so this will make your cat feel more comfortable. Other than that, just give it time.
