My 10 year old wants a Broadway themed bedroom. What colour to paint the walls? What "extras" can I do to make it special? She has lots of posters, awards and autographs, is that enough? How to frame them to make them stand out?
Any suggestions appreciated.

It would be really cool if you could do murals on the wall like a broadway sign on one wall (you know like coming soon to broadway then youre daughter's name) then on another wall a chorus line (of dancers in gold or something fun liek that)

If that seems to tacky then maybe decorate it to look like the inside of a nice theater with rich colors of red or blue then have one wall painted to look like a stage. As for framing things i dont know if it would be possihble but if you could frame them in lights that would just be a really cool touch.

use those big velvet curtains as curtains for windows or as a canopy of some sort, maybe paint a stage on the wall have musical notes hanging from the ceiling maybe some broadway playbills framed around the room have those little lights on the floor leading to her bed or something. frame the posters everywhere, make a big shelf for the awards. have big spot lights for her lights for her room.

I think a dark, but fun, red or purple would look like a broadway color on the walls and maybe yellow stars painted in certain places, paint a sign on the wall that says coming to broadway: your daughters name... that would be pretty cool. If its OK it would be cool to paint a star on her door that says her name, like in dressing rooms. If her room is big enough you could maybe put a little stage with a red curtain. Go on discovery kids online and go to trading spaces, they have pretty funky room ideas.

Triton gallery (you can find them on line has frames that you can use. you can also post mirrors on one end of a wall (Mylar works too and its cheap) and put a strip of track lighting directly on the other side of the wall that way it will give the appearance of being on stage. These are just some ideas that you can use. Also Triton galley sells show cards that you can purchase. you can find the show cards of shows that she has done (or her favorite shows and display them)

You should do your bedroom, in New York style. All the broadway musicals they have in new york will do perfect in your bedroom.
