Because few understand Bush's agenda, or understand that no matter what the U.S. does, there will be untold numbers of casualties on BOTH sides. It is too bad that the laws aren't different. That Bush, his cronies, the neocons, and all of those who follow him, be forced to don a uniform, shoulder a rifle and step into some boots.
And at the end of January, 2007, instead of "20,000 troops", that the "surge" (which is basically the same as an "escalation") be led and fought by the very same people who will allow it.
Bush, his cronies, the neocons and all those who follow them.

Dubbya doesn;t want to risk hurting the oil.

In case you had not noticed, they are not fighting a war. if they were fighting a war they would have won and been home years ago.

They are making the middle east a comfy place for Dubbya and his oil buddies to go consort after his term in office is finally over.

At least our Commander in Chief is allowing his OFFICERS and SENIOR ENLISTED to do what they're trained to do: TAKE OUT THE ENEMY.
