My husband's yorkie wouldn't go near him for 2 wks before he was struck by lightning, he died as a result of this, I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself

Most definetely they have a sixth sense.
My mother passed away and God allows her to 'visit' me from time to time..
One day I was sitting watching TV and I saw a glimpse of her favorite gown go past the doorway. I said nothing but my dachsund jumped up and ran down the hallway barking....
They are very perceptive

It is strange you should have asked this question, as I was going to ask a similar one. In my case every week on a Friday night I go to another town about twelve miles away to visit a friend, the length of the visit always varies so I never know how long I am going to be,my wife does not come. Each time about fifteen minutes before I arrive home my labrador gets up and goes to wait by the front door.My wife then knows I will be home before long, but the dog cannot possibly hear my car as when she gets up to wait I am still too far away for that to be an explanation, it is very touching and seemingly inexplicable to us humans.

i 100% agree that dogs have a sixth sense. I bet there was someone with your husband, perhaps a loved one he had lost waiting to help him go to a better place for those 2 weeks before it happened. My dog often sits where my dads chair used to be and just stares. I didn't get him until after my dad had died so its not as though he was used to seeing my dad sit there. I am sorry to hear of your loss and i hope your yorkie has been a comfort to you

Dogs are not the only animals with a 'sixth sense' as you call it.
Some humans as well as other animals can sense foreboding events.
Dogs of course have an acute sense of hearing and smell well beyond the human range and can hear earthquakes long before they strike. They can sense fear and other events long before us humans and sometimes beyond our comprehension
The 'six sense' is also used to describe the ability of people to contact the spirit world, like Colin Fry.
We can all experience it at least once in our life time.
The I've been here before or I know what is going to happen next syndrome.
People may scoff at it but some times 'sixth sense' has proved to be a life saver.
Long may it continue, throughout all species.

Oh yes I do believe they know things before hand.So sorry this had to become a statics. But dogs have been prov en to seek out cancer in a persons body before they even know themselves. My dogs know hours before a storm comes and they begin pacing ,looking out as if to see something. And they definitely know if I am ill. They are remarkable animals. They have all kinds of feelings. In my town an elderly man died and was buried 3-4 miles from his home and the dog showed up there and stayed until it died.Community leaders had to take turns feeding ,providing shelter, and caring for this poor dog for the duration of his life. After all look at DOG spelled backward.

Dogs have a sixth sense, no doubt about it. Our dog could tell wen we were going away ages before we actually went (as in he followed us around everywhere & wouldnt leave). Also could tell wen car was coming home 10 mins before it reached the house!!

I am sorry about your lost. I pray your are healing during this time.

I agree. Dogs do seem to have additional senses that we humans lack. i have a new puppy and am curious to learn whether he has extraordinary sensing abilities or will he just be average.......
