Press down on his tongue (not hard!). That's aversive and makes them stop. Also say, "no lick!" sharply. They understand the tone, if not the words. Tell others to respond the same way. Dogs are smart!

Well, this is a problem, isn't it? First, I would say consistency is the key. When my dog licks, I be sure to say, in a stern voice, "No lick." If she persists, I hold her snout (not too hard) and tell her again. If she persists, you can buy a nylon muzzle that you put on her for just a few minutes at a time, to emphasize the command. This helps, but with my eight month old pup, I still haven't mastered it. Don't worry, though, my 2 year old dog gets it! Good luck!

Correct the dog. When he licks give a jerk on the leash or shake a can of pennies to momentarily stop him and say no. If he stops licking reward. This way the dog associates licking with not okay and not licking as good.

why would you wish to stop your dog from showing affection. buy & use some anti-bacterial soap. if your dog licks someone who hasn't the basic common sense to wash after the fact, they deserve all the (highly improbable) infection they probably won't get.

whenever it licks just pull your arm away or don't let it
it will eventually get the point that you don't want it to lick
