Present them to Satan for a taste test. The real one should taste metallic and the fake ones taste like chicken. LOL

There is no test. Thats's God's decision. the fact that a christian is having troubles or makes a mistake, its the fact that the world, looks at that and sees that that person is a Christian, and then all Christians get that sterotype. And its true, if you are a believer in Christ, have fully committed your life to Christ, then you will never leave it. God will always be there
and nondescript- what are the "unsavory parts"? They are probably out of context, or the sections are probably just interpreted wrong. The Bible isn't an easy book to read.

I'm an atheist, but if I really really believed the Bible I would quit my job, live in poverty, spend every day tending to the needs of the poor, pray every day, repeatedly read the Bible cover to cover, etc. I mean seriously, if everlasting life in paradise is at stake here I'm gonna bite the bullet and give up all wordly pleasures for my 70 or 80 or 90 years on earth. I'd be an idiot not to take that deal if I honestly believed that was the reality.

So then if there are tens of millions of Christians, why don't I see them doing that?

The answer seems obvious to me.

A true Christian has made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior. They believe you must be born again, that is by confessing they are a sinner, asking God for forgiveness, and inviting Jesus Christ to come into their heart.

Revelation 3:20 Jesus Christ said this,"Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

A false Christian has done none of what I have stated above.

To Frugermit who answered before me, You are 100% right in that is what a true Christian should do, and that is my only desire, to do all of what you stated, and more!!!

A fake Christian is a hypocrite. That is someone who says they are a Christian, but hasn't confessed Jesus Christ Lord and believed in their heart He shed His own blood to redeem us from sin and raised from the dead for ones justification.

Without any atonement for sins, person isn't washed clean by the blood yet, so isn't a Christian, so isn't redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

If one wants to test self, ask self if you know Jesus Christ as Lord in your heart. Jesus said that His sheep know His voice. Do you know His voice. When you study the Word of God, does the Holy Spirit enlighten Truth to you? The Holy Spirit is with every child born of God. Is the seal until the day of redemption. Is with child of God and will fill Child of God. Will raise us up like Christ in everlasting body also. How does one know if they are filled with the Holy Spirit? Have you ever been in praise service, praising God, in love with God in Spirit & Truth? If not, then you are not yet filled with the Holy Spirit.

Another test is the fruit. Do you slander others, lie, cheat, steal, etc.? Or do you love, pray, have faith in God, help, etc.?

Also, have faith in God & His Word. Trust and obey, there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus is to trust & obey.

A true Christian loves their " Creator " with all their heart, mind and spirit and worships Him and has love and compassion for his fellow mankind, a fake is the opposite.

John 15:4, Jesus said Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
John 15: 5, I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

If we are not " in " Christ we will not show or bear the fruits of Christ. Fruits are such things as love, patience, kindness, forgiveness, etc., all the qualities of who He is.

It takes awhile to bear fruit, and it is a process, but if after some time a person continues to remain as before in their character and way of life without showing the fruits of Christ in them, then they are obviously just talking the talk and not walking the walk.

Some Christians are more slow in the process than others however, and it is not for us to judge anyone in their walk with the Lord. God Himself is will reveal the truth and judge them.

Does the Spirit rule over the flesh or does the body and it's independence rule. For the person above re drugs & sex who said 'most Christians' go take a vote first.

Well some people "claim" that they are real Christians and they believe that they are... They could go to church everyday of the week and praise God wherever they go but they are faker than fake... They judge others and they are so hung over on saving the "sinners" that they forget all about themselves...

Their are christians such as myself who have dumped "americanized christianity" and returned to the wisdom of the Torrah (first five books of the bible.) Do a google search on Messianic Judaism. This is christianity in it's purest form.
