I'm not American but Canadian ..its not Mexicans here but another group that statistics canada says in 10 years will be more in population .(indian ( needless to say my view with any country ...when you go to another country you should adpt yourself to its traditions and laws.My friend placed it this way in a conversation at work if we were to go to India we would not get a job if we refused to adapt to their culture . language or tradition. You should respect the country you want to become a citizen of, or stay in your own ...where you do not have to adapt

i've come up with this...illegals (mostly mexicanos) lol are seen today in the news the same way pit bulls are..not all are bad but because there are some cases of them being bad we think ALL are bad..no
good example..my fiance was brought over at the age of three..went to school here, worked here since he was 16 and has had a tax id doing his taxes since then too, speaks perfect english and doesnt have a spanish accent at all. the same with my father and his side of the family..they have since gotten their stuff together..my fiance is trying..but no one will help him.
i think its mostly the older hispanics that dont speak english or that dont speak it well even though most of them do make an effort to learn. Also from what I personally have experienced I'm not saying this is how it is everywhere..but its the children of the illegal immigrants..the ones that are born US citizens that dont appreiciate things and are gange banging, doing and dealing drugs. This is just me though everyones experiences with Illegal immigrants will be different and so will be there way of thinking.

I'm the same boat as you with the language issue, but really, when you come here at the age of 30 its a ***** to learn a brand new language. Do you live in Southern Cali? Most of my adult neighbors do not speak English so you literally have to have there 10 year olds to translate for you. At least they are getting it.

Seriously obeying the laws? I bet 75% of Americans break more laws that immigrants ie: traffic violations, casual drug use, shoplifting, tax evasion... the list goes on. Just because an immigrant broke a law that you think should be upheld, doesn't make you better than them.

Sadly, many of them come over here for economic reasons alone. This is not the immigration for a better life in a new world that created our great country. They do not seek to become Americans. They only want to enjoy the American lifestyle. Through open borders and liberal policies, we have allowed the two to separate. If they want the American dream, then do it like the millions of immigrants before them have done, legally!

I'm half Italian by ethnic heritage. My mother's grandparents entered the US through Ellis Island with millions of others, went through the process, and followed the laws. That IS NOT too much to expect. It is simply ridiculous to be shy about enforcing our country's laws and security just because we happen to have several horribly corrupt and mismanaged, poverty-stricken countries to our south.

If you don't like your country, change it for the better, or leave it completely. Stop trying to exploit ours for all it's worth while remaining a foreign national. If you're going to rip-off Americans, sucking up our social services, at least become an American first... then you can do it legally!

EDIT: I guarantee that I speak better Spanish than 99% of them speak English... And it's very easy to tell which are illegals... just yell La Migra, La Migra, and watch who runs... If anyone wants to discuss this further, I can be reached through my profile here. I am for greater cooperation for guest worker programs and assistance if they want to become Americans, but insist on closing the border to illegals as it ends up hurting both them and us.

Cantcu is 100% right, the Republicans had ample time to take care of it and did nothing.I guess they didn't want to lose their maids, nannies, and, gardeners. All the illegals I know are here to work as hard as they can and go back to their countries, they have no desire to rape the country, suck up the welfare,or any of these speculations. Many, when not working a 2nd or 3rd job, will take English classes at Progreso Latino or International Institute.

contained in the perfect few elections there has gave the impression to be a populist vs. elitist chop up, as a lot as a celebration chop up. we favor distinct activities who don't have entrenched, overwhelmingly influential constituencies. For the Democrats that's gigantic exertions and particular industries. For the Republicans that's globalist company and massive nationwide company. however, it is going to take a minimum of an election cycle to get human beings to believe they received't be throwing their vote away to vote for a sparkling party. perchance if there have been internet 'trial votes' so human beings will be persuaded, pre election, that their candidate had a probability, that could want to paintings. today to vote for a third party is to take your vote out of interest, and chop up your 'party's" impact. As to the Hispanic Latino vote, they are being spoken of as if they were maximum human beings, and as if all of them voted the same way, at the same time as basically neither is real. In a close race, having a huge type of them on your side might want to help. however, if maximum human beings turns hostile to a political candidate (which includes, often a minimum of a mandatory component to the 'Hispanic vote') having the vast majority of a minority vote will purely be a convenience prize. also, not all our leaders got here from wealthy backgrounds. Lincoln, Reagan.... the record is lengthy. we may be able to knock out those who voted incorrect purely the position the alternative will be better in this mission, and that ought to make adequate replace to make the others take observe - for the instant.

You're grouping illegals as a whole, as if they were all the same and displayed the same type of behavior. Because Americans are legal does that mean there are no american criminals, no Americans on welfare, or committing welfare fraud, and would you want to be grouped in there with them because you are an American as well? I know I wouldnt want to be. So, back to your question, I think each case is different. As far as speaking english, I saw someone earlier post something about knowing people who have been here for a long time and still do not know the language, that's not good, I agree, but sometimes the ones who are working alot do not have time to take classes or are in jobs where they dont have to speak, I mean for those that work out in the fields all day, how many opportunities each day do you think they have to speak with someone in english? Not much, I'll tell you that. It can be done, they can do it, but with everything translated anyways, why would they?

of course there are a select few and i commend them for doing so. however, what i see the majority doing is creating a subculture in america. by keeping themselves separate from americans, there are only doing themselves a disservice: by doing that they will never learn how the integrate or speak english. and if they don't learn english, they will not get good jobs. basically, they are keeping themselves low on the totem pole. i don't understand why 70% of all high school students who take a foreign language class in the US choose to take spanish; that only encourages them to not try and learn english. if i went to another country to live there, i would try and learn THEIR language, not vice versa.

Working hard and obeying the laws- yes.
Speaking more english and becoming 'americanized'- only those who are planning on staying. Many illegals are just here to work, send money back to support their families, and then go back to Mexico. Many don't wish to be Americans.

I don't see many Mexicans or PR'icans trying to do any of those things. I am not sure if they are illegal because I haven't asked for their green card. Either way...I see, in my town, a complete lack of respect for laws, the English language, and basic rules of hygiene and cleanliness. I also ALWAYS see them at home or on their porch making a scene. ?? Do they work 3rd shift? Maybe... Do all of them work 3rd shift? Probably not. I'm sure this means they are unemployed.

Sorry...not being racist, but these are real life observations for me. It is not my fault that Mexicans and PR'icans exhibit this behavior. They are responsible for themselves as human beings trying to thrive in society.
