We do? huh, news to me. The only thing I can think of is that a Catholic who is inclined to participate in an intelligent debate is most likely one who is very comfortable and familiar with Catholicism and its theology, history, etc. Education will "beat" ignorance in any debate. (Too bad that isn't how the world works.)

Many people have a lot of misconceptions about Catholics and what we believe. They continue spreading the lies that they were told, and to make it worse, they compound those lies with bigger ones.

Catholics, on the other hand, are typically more accepting of the beliefs of others and recognize that there is some truth in the teachings of, at least the major, Protestant faiths. It is the Catholic Church however, that contains the fullness of the teachings of Jesus.

With the truth on your side, how can you lose?

Most of what, maybe 80%, Catholic and Prodestants believe are the same but its the 20% they reject that is the difference. Catholics believe in the Eucharist as Jesus Christ himself, we believe in Mary and the Saints - that we can pray to them to help us for their prayer is strong since they are in heaven. Also the view on salvation is a little different -God Bless

never knew they debated but maybe it's because the evangelicals go in thinking the old "myths" about catholic: they don't read/know Scriptures, the worship Mary, they aren't "born again" so aren't in the Spirit....

who knows!

They don't, much depends on what the subject of the debate is and who the debaters are.

The Catholic church is a non-Christian cult that teaches dogma that contradicts the Word of God.

The Catholic church teaches that Mary is perfect, even to her death, but God's Word says ALL have sinned, and that includes Mary.
