i do believe there is a god, i believe that jeseus was a very good spiritually connected man whose word is very much the way i would like to fashion my life after, i don't really believe in adam and eve or the nativity storie, i don't respect preasts or nuns and don't care to be jusged by them, therefore i don't want to confess my sins to someone who probably has sinned worse than i, so what church do i belong to? i would like to have some religious stability in my life, but feel like a hypocrite to go to the catholic church.

I think being a good person is what's really important, and I think you can be a good Christian without tying yourself to a formal religion.

In the first place, You are not even chritian, u r agnostic.
Try to studya little bit of ur religion u wer born into and see why they teach what they teach.
The Catholic Church says that Adam and Eva is not a historic narration, u cannotake it litteraly as it is.
About his birth, well it was th only way that God can make himself a Man. Mary needed to be a holy woman in order to receive the Holy Gohst who would encarnate in her.
Abou saintsthere is a part in the Gosspels where the disciples tell Jesus that they scold a man for being expulsing "demons" in His name, he answers Do not do that, if they are not against us, they are with us.
About confession, like someone else said in the Gosspels Jesus says i give you the power to forgive sins and the power to retain them.
That´s all i can tell u.

By Canon Law, if you were baptized Catholic, you are still considered to be a Catholic.

Setting that aside, let me ask you this: Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? If yes, you could easily consider yourself Christian, non-denominational if you needed a term. If you don't believe that, I don't see how attending a Christian Church would be helpful to your spiritual life and relationship with God since Jesus' relationship to God is a fundamental element. You might find more fulfillment looking into a philosophy like Buddism.

If people ask you "what are you?" you can say that you were raised Catholic but are not a practicing Catholic. I know many people who answer this way.

why wouldn't you not have respect for another person wouldn't you want to be shown respect. I do not know why you said you dont want to confess your sins to somebody who probally sinned worse than you. It says do not judge so you cannot judge someone before you know them. Priests and Nuns are holy people they devouted their life toward God. I do not appreciate you saying you dont respect them. Another thing is that the catholic church preaches the same thing any other Christian denomination would preach, so if you do not like what they preach then you do not like what others preached. So you are contradicting many peoples beliefs. I would say that you are not christian because you said Jesus was a very good spirtually connected man, yet he was God I would say that you had not had much teaching on christianity

I was born a Protestant and became Catholic.

Respectfully, it does not sound to me like you really ever understood the Catholic faith.

First of all Priests and Nuns are not there to judge you.

Next, Catholics do not confess to the Priest, but to Jesus THROUGH the priest.

Most of us could be considered hypocrites as we strive to live a perfect life, but as humans we will never be perfect.

What Jesus gave us through the Catholic Church is the tools for us as imperfect humans to remain within the Grace of God through the Sacraments. One of which is Reconciliation. By doing this we move into a closer relationship with God and become better people.

Understanding this is exactly what brought not only Religious stability into my life, but also Peace and true Joy.

I suggest that before you discount your "Faith", please try to really understand it first.

Peace, and may God Bless your Search, (It may just take you home).

You need to try different religions and see which suits you best. The bottom line is it doesn't really matter. As long as you believe trust and acknowledge that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you...... then thats what matters. Its what goes on in your heart. He knows your heart. He knows what you are going to do before you even do it. I am a recent christian, born a catholic. I agree with you about confessing to people. Start readidng the bible. Just a little at a time. You will understand it when you ask (before you read) the lord to help you. Believe me he will help you. I can't believe that i have waited so long to follow jesus, I am new and its not easy but you need to have faith..... Thats the key... Remember what i say when it all comes together and good luck. Its not too late, but soon it will be.....

well in my church, we don't have nuns, and we don't think Mary is holy or perfect. But, we do believe when Jesus was born in the barn & all that. we also know Adam & Eve were the first people on earth, and the first to sin. But no, we don't have nuns, or reconciliation to anyone. We DO confess to God, though. So if you think my way, you should be Lutheran. We didn't change God's word at all. Like, we don't pray to saints or Mary. So become Lutheran.

One is not born a Catholic. To become a Catholic one is Baptized.
You do not have to take the Bible literally to be a Catholic.
You did not say if you were Confirmed.
Before you throw out the whole Catholic Religion, try attending RCIA or Welcome Back classes. You do not have to commit yourself, just show up and question everything you have a problem with. Then make up your mind. Your questions here are valid and it sounds like you are searching for good answers.
The RCIA is a great way to find them.

When you go to the confessional it is Jesus Christ himself that forgives your sins. He works through the priest. Remember when Jesus said to his apostles "I give you the power to forgive and retain sins?" It is the actual sacrament that is the key, and what a great sacrament it is. I would not judge the Catholic Church because of its sinners, for everyone has sinned, but look at the church itself and its teachings. Jesus himself founded the Church and he is the bridegroom of the Church. I would keep the faith and try to look deeper into what the Catholic Church really teaches. You will be in my prayers. God Bless

If you're of age, you're free to choose another religion where you'll feel more committed to. If you're still living at home with your parents, you'll probably have to go along with whatever religion they're bringing you up in, and then go your own separate way when you're of majority age. Lots of people do this. However, respect your parents and don't hurt them by looking down your nose at what they believe. They only want what they feel is the best for you. If they're open-minded, you may want to share your feelings with them. If not, you're better off not saying anything. Good luck!

I don't know, but
religion "per se" is of very little importance.
what is important is YOUR personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
don't get hung up on "religion".
John 3: The Words of Jesus Christ (God in the flesh)
3. "Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
4. Nicodemus saith unto Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"
5. Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God."
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18. He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
