Black consists of all of the colours. The whole spectrum is absorbed, hence no light is reflected and no colour is visible.

First let's approach this physically.
If we talk about light, then black means no light reflected, every little ray of light is absorbed by the object, thus nothing reaches your eyes, so it's black. That's why a black hole is "black", because light is supposed to be sucked in as well. White is, on the other hand, the relfection of all the colours, which, combined, give you white light. You can decompose that white light with a prism, and you get the whole specter. Same thing happens with rainbows, the drops of water in the sky decompose the light.
Let's get back to black.
If we talk about paint, then black is not the sum of all colours, but gray. If you mix red, blue and yellow, the primary colours, you get gray. Really. I've tried it with watercolour and it happens. If we talk about the pure black, then you should know that is generally doesn't have anything to do with colours. Black added onto a colour influences it's shade, it's tone.

To be closer to your question, can be obtained by adding the 3 primary colours, to get gray, thus annihilating the saturation, and then shading over and over, to darken the tone. But, as i said, in paint-making, black is usually a whole different set of chemicals ;)

Black is not a colour. It is an absence of light or colour. Black paints and dyes are made from substances that absorb all frequencies of light so that they appear black. If you need confirmation of this, go out at night somwhere there is little artificial light - everything looks as if it is in black and white on a grainy old movie.

black is made with all three primary colors mixed in thier dakest, richest hues. Chroma is the relative brightness of a color, you'll get varing shades based upon your selections: gray, onyx, charcoal. You can end up with a color so dark it appears black, but it will look much richer and more luminous than black paint from a tube.

Hi:

Paint color like Mars black and Jet Black are made from ground pigments that have a 'black' appearance. Colors like Vine Black may be made from ground charred vines - like Willow charcoal. Some varieties of that, you can actually see the willow twig very easily. Bone black is made from charred animal bones. While they not really be 'the absense of all color', they are black paints. Some of the pigments are so beautiful just sitting in jars, because they are actually ground semi-precious stones, like ultramarine colors come from ground lapis lazuli. Check this website that sells various pigments, and you can see how the different colors may be made for producing artwork. Hope this helps, and provides some enlightenment.

Ah, but the color black can be made from the primary colors; black is the product of ALL the primary colors. People's common conception of black as being the absence of color is incorrect; black is the presence of all colors. Pretty cool, eh?

Black is not a color, it is a shade and the absense of all color.

If you are asking how to make it by mixing paints, you can't, you would instead get a very, very dark brown.

White is a combination of all colors, in terms of light, white light, or visible light, is the combination of all the colors in the visible spectrum.
